Kowhai Bowl – Burnt Orange

12cm diameter porcelain bowls with a vibrant coloured gloss glaze on the inside and a relief kowhai seed pattern with a white matte glaze on the outside.

This piece of ceramic features the seed of the Kowhai, New Zealand’s unofficial national flower. The name comes from the Maori word for yellow due to its golden colour. If you want to attract Tui’s or Bellbirds to your garden then plant a Kowhai tree.

Designed in NZ by Jo Luping. Jo Luping studied art at the Otago Fine Art School, then design and film at Victoria University. The studio she established in 1996 is where where she creates contemporary pieces that reflect her environment and her mixed New Zealand and Borneo identity.

Bowls are microwave & dishwasher safe up to 70°C.
